Did Wayne Fereday ruin your life? Was Silvio Maric directly responsible for your
high dentist bills due to the constant gnashing and grinding of your molars? Did
Billy Askew’s hair give you nightmares or did the merest mention of Jean Alain Boumsong's
name have the same effect as the aftermath of a Vindaloo? Then this is the book you've
been waiting for.
Relive all your least favourite Newcastle United moments by taking
a journey back through the labyrinth of frustration, disillusionment and failure
that is Newcastle United’s worst ever players. Grimace, cringe and wince as you take
a trip down the derelict end of memory lane, through a history of Newcastle United’s
most inept, incompetent and overpaid exponents of the beautiful game. Players who
panicked whenever the ball came within twenty yards of them, players who would struggle
to make the bench for St. Joseph’s School under 7’s team and players who surprised
you by managing to put their boots on the right feet.
If you've ever watched a Newcastle
United player and wondered how they managed to turn professional and you didn't;
if you were left speechless as they were allowed to continue spreading their misery
well into the second half or dumbfounded at the fact they’d managed to convince someone
to pay them a wage to stumble around the field and offer nothing more to the cause
than the corner flag, you’ll find them all here.

One day, hopefully, there will be a Newcastle United museum full of memorabilia, history and tributes but until then, here is my unofficial hall of fame to celebrate all the best and worst of Newcastle United.
Legends we’ll never forget, players and games that shaped a lot of our happiest memories and those that frustrated us and still haunt us (you can’t appreciate the smooth without the rough!).
We’ll be inducting players into the hall of fame (and the hall of shame) periodically so check back often.
What’s it all about?
It hasn’t been a great few years under the ‘stewardship’ of Pardew. From 1993 to 2006, Newcastle United managed eight top seven Premier League finishes, two of which could and should have ended with the title at St. James’ Park. However, since the arrival of M*ke As*l*y in 2007, there have been five bottom half finishes, three relegation battles and two relegations. Gone are the idols such as Shearer, Beardsley, Ferdinand and Ginola, replaced with Luque, Rush, Andersson, Rozehnal, Xisco, Pancrate, Kuqi, Gouffran, Riviere and Des Hamilton. It is for this reason, we must celebrate those in black and white who made us believe there would be something silver waiting for us at the end of the season even if they didn’t quite make it happen. If you need to get away from the lastest defeat by a bottom of the table team at home when they were down to eight men, then this site is a goldmine of good times, great players and special memories.
Of course, you can’t have a yin without the yang and whilst it’s no fun to look back
on past failures, one quality us Geordies pride ourselves on is the ability to laugh
at ourselves. At the time, watching Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer having a set-
